Originally designed over 90 years ago, this weed puller saw action up until the Second World War, when steel and other materials were salvaged for the war effort. This takes us back to a time when you reached for a tool instead of a bottle of weed killer.
Instructions on the handle explain how to operate Grandpa’s Weeder — it’s pretty simple. First, center the two iron gripping prongs over the weed. Then jam it into the ground and remove your foot, leaning the 39″ hardwood handle in the direction of the footpad lever. The weed pops out, root and all.
